About Japanese carving

In Japanese engraving, the workpiece is fixed to a table and carved "towards you" while hitting the chisel with a hammer. The image is of the blade moving forward with a "knock knock" sound.
Because it is possible to carve deep, powerful lines, it is possible to create a powerful, dynamic, and three-dimensional expression. The surface reflects light and shines brightly, and the shadows created by the deep carvings create a rich expression. It is good at creating powerful expressions.
The Japanese engravings by the craftsmen at KARAFURU are breathtakingly intricate and beautiful. They express even the most minute petals and leaves with a beautiful flowing movement. It's as if the lines drawn with the Japanese engraving technique are being breathed into life.
