Regarding the Rise in Gold Prices

The other day, we announced a price revision for our 18K ring. This article explains the reason for this: the soaring price of gold.

Gold is the king of precious metals. It has been used since ancient times to make rings look beautiful, as well as for accessories and coins, and is said to have an "eternal shine."

The value of gold is recognized around the world. Although it does not generate interest, unlike stocks, it has value in itself and is a safe asset whose price will never drop to zero. Therefore, it is said that gold prices tend to rise when the risks in the global economy increase.

The price of gold has continued to rise recently, reaching an all-time high on July 28, 2020.
Prices are now higher than the high levels of 40 years ago.

I'm not an economics expert, so I can't say anything definitive, but

・The first and second waves of COVID-19
・Deterioration of international relations
Racist demonstrations around the world
・Fiscal stimulus and monetary easing will cause money to flood the market, lowering interest rates, and some of the money that has nowhere to go will flow into the gold market, pushing up the price of gold.

For these reasons,

・Gold is being used as a safe haven due to concerns that the value of money will be diluted.
・Gold instead of stocks
・Focus on non-interest-bearing assets

This has resulted in demand for gold exceeding supply, causing prices to soar.
Another reason for the soaring prices is that central banks around the world are increasing their gold holdings as insurance against concerns about their own countries' finances and currencies.

Considering the above, it seems unlikely that prices will return to their previous levels in the near future, and even if they do, it will likely take some time, which is why we have decided to revise the prices this time (after September 15th).
